These toy stores often carry more specialized or collectable toys, but their real beauty is the fact that the repair broken toys and dolls. This can be a god send to any parent with a favorite doll or toy that cannot be replaced. Search your local yellow pages or on-line to locate a store near you.

FAO Schwartz and American Girls
New York is home to two of the most famous stores that sell toys in the world and any parent who visits the city needs to make sure to stop by and check out the toys. FAO Schwartz has been featured in several movies and they pride themselves on letting the kids try the toys out. They famously have a life sized keyboard that kids can play with their feet. American Girls also has on of their toy stores in New York. All the rage, American Girl dolls are available for sale there as well as accessories and furniture items. As an added bonus, the American Girl Store has a restaurant that sets a place for your daughters American Girl and serves tea and biscuit for the ‘baby’ as well.
